The Old Rectory nestles in the beautiful heart of the Irish countryside, in the village of Emo, Co Laois, Ireland. It is located just 2 kilometres off the M7 and just an hour from Dublin. Constructed in 1785, 'The Old Rectory' has been the home of the Deverell family since the 1950's. The Courtyard now houses two luxury apartments and Dawson's House. Each has it's own unique charm and offer reasonably priced 'stress free breaks' away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

These charming self catering apartments and house are part of a working farm. 'The Old Rectory' is the ideal base from which to explore the beauty and peace of the Midlands. This is also the perfect 'place to stay' for touring, for day trips and to visit many parts of Ireland - Dublin, Kilkenny, Cashel, Birr and Kinnitty Castles, Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains, Killaloe and Lough Derg, The Cliffs of Moher or Galway City. Attractions in Laois
The area abounds with interesting attractions.- Visit 'Georgian' Emo Court, designed by James Gandon, and its Lakeside Gardens (seen above) which are in the village of Emo. The house (see below) is now open for visitors until the autumn - (entrance fee). The gardens provide a wonderful place for your daily walk or run, at no charge. There are many interesting trees to be seen. Spoil yourself and stop in delightful 'Tea Rooms' - open 10am - 5pm during the summer months.
